YouTube Sidebar Premium – Terms of Service
Last updated: 15 March 2025
These Terms govern your use of the YouTube Sidebar Premium browser extension (“Extension”). By installing, accessing, or purchasing premium plans you agree to these Terms and acknowledge that the Extension is an independent project not affiliated with or endorsed by YouTube or Google.
1. Eligibility & License
- You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) and legally able to form a contract.
- We grant you a limited, revocable, non-transferable license to install and use the Extension for your personal YouTube account. Commercial use, resale, or offering the Extension as a hosted service is prohibited without written consent.
- You may not decompile, reverse engineer, or redistribute the Extension or any part of the code outside of what the applicable browser stores allow.
2. Accounts, Authentication & Data
- Premium features rely on Google OAuth via the Chrome/Firefox identity API. You are responsible for safeguarding your Google credentials and for any activity under your account.
- The Extension caches a sanitized copy of your Google profile and YouTube session context inside browser storage to keep you signed in, as described in the Privacy Notice.
- If we detect suspicious activity (for example, credential sharing, entitlement tampering, or repeated chargebacks) we may revoke access or require re-authentication.
3. Premium Plans & Payments
- All payments are processed by Stripe. During checkout we transmit only the metadata required to link the session (plan ID, Google user ID, confirmSecret, email). Stripe handles card numbers and billing addresses.
- Monthly and Yearly subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel via the Stripe customer portal link delivered at checkout or by contacting support before the next renewal date.
- Lifetime plans grant access for the supported lifetime of the Extension. If the Extension is discontinued or YouTube removes the technical hooks required to operate it, lifetime access ends with no additional compensation.
- Pricing may change for future purchases. Taxes, exchange fees, or bank charges are your responsibility.
- Refunds are considered case-by-case in accordance with local laws. Provide your Stripe receipt and the Google account used for checkout when requesting a refund.
4. User Content & Local Data
- Captured videos, saved queues, notes, and layout settings are stored locally in browser storage. You retain all rights to that content and are solely responsible for backups or exports.
- We are not liable for loss of local data caused by browser crashes, factory resets, or uninstalling the Extension.
- Do not store unlawful, infringing, or sensitive personal data in the notes feature.
5. Acceptable Use
- Use the Extension only in ways permitted by YouTube’s Terms of Service and applicable law. You may not use it to scrape or redistribute content beyond the features provided.
- Do not attempt to bypass licensing checks, spoof checkout confirmations, or share Google accounts to circumvent plan limits.
- Do not exploit the Extension to harvest personal data from other users, interfere with YouTube’s normal operation, or upload malware.
6. Third-Party Services
The Extension relies on several processors and platforms:
- Google/YouTube for OAuth, Chrome identity, and the page data displayed inside the sidebar.
- Firebase / Google Cloud for hosting our API endpoint and storing entitlement records.
- Stripe for payment processing, subscription management, and billing communications.
Your use of those services remains subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.
7. Updates & Availability
- The Extension may update automatically through the browser stores. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the modified software.
- YouTube and browser changes may break or remove features. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or backward compatibility.
8. Termination
- You may uninstall the Extension or downgrade to the free tier at any time.
- We may suspend or revoke your license (with or without notice) if you violate these Terms, attempt fraud, abuse support channels, or endanger the service. Termination does not create an automatic refund obligation unless required by law.
9. Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability
- The Extension is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
- To the fullest extent permitted by law we are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, nor for loss of data, profits, or goodwill.
- Our aggregate liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid for the most recent billing cycle (or the lifetime license price, if applicable).
10. Changes & Contact
We may revise these Terms and will note the effective date above and highlight material changes inside the Extension options page. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance. Questions? Email ytsidebar@aimixtapes.com.
